We had so much fun celebrating Dolly’s first birthday last week! She was definitely spoiled with being the center of attention. We’re so thankful for all our family that drove (and flew) from out-of-state to celebrate our girl with us.
My idea was to go for a vintage Disney/Mickey Mouse theme for her party. I wasn’t planning to share everything in a blog post, but I had a few friends on Instagram ask for links to things, so I’ll share the photos I quickly snapped before everyone arrived with all the details below.

Dolly LOVED her chocolate cake. She probably would have eaten the entire thing if I let her! Mason, Dolly and I wore tees that said Dada Mouse, Mama Mouse and Mini Mouse. I had a bad experience with the shop I bought these from, but if you want to chance your luck, I’m linking them anyway! Both of our rose gold ears are from Etsy (here are hers and mine), and Mason’s were from a pack of 20 on Amazon. Dolly’s shorts are from Amazon, and my jeans (the comfiest EVER) are from Abercrombie.

I printed out pictures of Dolly and taped them to skewers inside mason jars, and wrote “Once Upon a Time” on the mirror with these chalk markers. I also sat out a bucket and note cards for our guests to write letters for Dolly to open up on her 18th birthday.
In our dining room, I wrote “grab your ears” on this chalkboard sign from Hobby Lobby, and put all the Mickey and Minnie ears on a table.
For the food, I made her smash cake from a chocolate cake mix and funfetti icing, and ordered cupcakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes. The castle cupcake toppers were from Etsy and shipped super quickly! I also used a Mickey mouse cookie cutter for rice krispie treats, and made Mickey ears from oreos. We also had chips and ranch dip, lots of fruit, tea and lemonade, with black plates/napkins and these cute rose gold straws.

The floral mickey ears were so easy to make! I cut pieces of eucalyptus garlands and a few flowers, and wrapped them around a wire wreath frame with floral wire. Her “one” balloon and balloon arch were both from Amazon.
Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
