For those who are new here, my two girls are 3 years and 8 weeks old. Now that I’m getting a solid stretch of sleep at night, it feels nice to finally get back into a daily rhythm!
Here is what our morning routine looks like:
6:00 AM
My youngest, Lainey, usually wakes around this time to nurse and go back to sleep. This is also when I typically check my calendar and plan out our day.
6:30 AM
If it’s not too humid outside, I’ll sit on our front porch and read my Bible. That, along with the morning sunshine, really brighten and set my day up well.
7:00 AM
Then I come back inside to get dressed and ready. Sometimes my oldest, Dolly, will already be awake, so she will join me in the bathroom or play independently for a few minutes.
7:30 AM
By this time, Dolly has already picked out an outfit and is ready to get dressed. We dedicated a drawer of her dresser to hold a few buckets of clothes I’ve picked out for her to choose from, which makes mornings so much easier. Then we’ll take her vitamins and brush her teeth with her ROARex toothbrush.

ROARex eco-friendly kids toothbrushes are the cutest way to add fun to your morning routine! Made from plants, these Vegan-Friendly Kids Toothbrushes are biodegradable and compostable as well. They are available in two different options — Giraffes or Dinosaurs — and currently sold at Amazon or Target. The bristles are soft for sensitive gums and the handles are perfect for little hands from 4 months to 3 years old. One percent of sales is donated to 1% of The Planet. From one mom to another: who wouldn’t want to make mornings a little more enjoyable with one less struggle?

8:00 AM
Lainey wakes up around this time to nurse again, then I get her dressed and ready for the day — Dolly also likes to help pick out her clothes, so “getting ready” is a whole ordeal in our house.
8:30 AM
This is usually when we head to the kitchen to make breakfast. Dolly also likes to play sous-chef, so she helps make scrambled eggs and some kind of treat – muffins, biscuits or pancakes!
9:30 AM
After breakfast, Dolly feeds the dogs and lets them outside while I throw a load of laundry in the washer. Then we are ready to head out the door for whatever adventure lies ahead that day!
This season of motherhood with littles is such a blessing, and I know it flies by quickly, so I try to include Dolly in almost every task. It may make our mornings take a bit longer, but I never want to forget these sweet, everyday moments!
